Ferragamo’s environmental responsibility now also embraces the brand’s eyewear universe with debut by the Responsible Eyewear Collection women’s line of sunglasses: two new models in a total of seven different colourways, featuring frames in Acetate Renew™ and BioRay lenses; recycled and renewable materials with unparalleled quality that boast lower impact on the planet.Ferragamo is the first brand to launch Acetate Renew™ on the market, a type of acetate made from a blend of biobased plastic, obtained from wood pulp from sustainable sources and recycled materials recovered from industrial processes. The BioRay shaded lenses are, meanwhile, made from biobased plastic derived from castor oil. Biobased plastics are made using renewable crop materials and reduce the use of non-biodegradable and finite oil. The Responsible Eyewear Collection glasses come in special packaging that is also responsible: the external case is in fact made from a blend of linen and cotton, both renewable, biodegradable natural fibres, while the lining is in a certified polyester obtained from post-consumer recycling. With their round oversize cat eye shape, these sunglasses feature refined details.
